Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Ledger and Lumber (ledgerandlumber.com) collects when you use this website. The short version: this site itself doesn't collect personal information. If you buy a template, Stripe handles the checkout and shares your name, email and order with us so we can support your purchase.

What we collect

Nothing you type on this site is collected. The site has no accounts and no contact or quote forms (checkout happens on Stripe's own pages, covered under Purchases below). The email sign-up box on the homepage isn't connected yet, so anything entered there is not sent or saved.

Calculators run in your browser. The numbers you enter into our cost calculators are processed on your own device and are never sent to us.

No tracking. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and our pages don't set cookies.

Technical information

Like nearly every website, the service that delivers these pages may automatically process basic technical information needed to send a page to your browser and protect the site from abuse, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. We don't use this information to identify you or build a profile, and we don't sell it.

Links to other websites

Our guides link to the sources we cite, like government data and published cost reports. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for how they handle your information.

Sharing your information

We don't sell, rent or share personal information, and we never pass visitor details to contractors. There are no “get quotes” forms on this site.

Purchases

Paid templates are sold through Stripe's checkout. Stripe acts as the seller of record and processes your payment, billing details, tax and receipt under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. From Stripe we receive your name, email address and what you bought, and we use them only to deliver your purchase and answer support requests.

Free downloads don't require an email address or any other information.

Refunds: Templates are digital downloads, so sales are final once the file is delivered. But if a file doesn't work or isn't as described, email [email protected] with the email address you used at checkout, and we'll fix it or refund you.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning home projects. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We plan to add an email list, privacy-friendly analytics and clearly labeled affiliate links. Before any of those go live, we'll update this policy to say what's collected, why, and which service providers handle it, and we'll change the date at the top.
